"I am Terry Banthorpe, ex drummer in Fourth Gear [Forth Gear]. We formed in Late 1969 and continued to perform as Fourth Gear untill 1974, the year i left to get married to my lovely wife Susan. The band then consisted of Lead vocals Paul Adams , Steve Mitchell backing vocals , Lead guitar John Mc Laughlin , Paul Burt rythm guitar and obviously me on drums .The band went on to change their name to Blitz after i left." Archive Question. Did you play in any bands before Fourth Gear [Forth Gear]? Answer: " No Kingsley, I was just coming up to 17 when we formed Fourth Gear [Forth Gear] and it was new to us all. We built a studio in my fathers back yard to rehearse every evening and weekends (when i was not playing local league football). Mark Harwood played bass for us on a few occassions and Bruce Jolly came along after i left. Great times to have been around and playing, fond memories of when pubs and clubs were packed and enjoyed a vast aray of live local talent." TB2016
