In 1987 Jacobs moved to Lowestoft. “I had been playing in Bury St Edmunds since 1978 and had started with the band The Teazers,” Jacobs explains. “I joined Southwold band Private Eye on moving to Lowestoft but soon put together The Lone Sharks. If I remember correctly,  I advertised locally and found Tosh. We auditioned several guitarists and drummers before we found Max and Stuart. We were modelled on Dr Feelgood in many ways. They were such a major influence growing up and through the seventies. So, we had that British pub rock, blues feel. We didn’t record with the band but played for around nine months in Lowestoft, Yarmouth and Norwich. The group was the precursor to The Big Red Overcoat. Max left in 1988 or thereabouts.
