Raynham based band Spencers People had evolved from The New Verdicts. Joined by black American Tony Spencer the band first went out as Tony & The Genisis in August 1968 but soon became Spencers People.
In [date required] the band went into Tony Palmer's, City Music studio, Hemsby to record the self penned Goodbye Don't Cry along with the track Maggie
In 1970 Roger retired from the scene to get married and ironically left his position to be filled by ex New Verdict vocalist Ringo Ward
