Terry Newby was born in [place required] in [date required]. Terry picks up the story "My grandad bought me my first drum when I was 3 in 1950 as I was beating the daylights out of my parents furniture. Both my dad and an auntie played a bit of drums so something must have rubbed off. When I was 4 i played a drum roll for the National Anthem for the opening of the gardens at St Margarets Infant School, Lowestoft in front of the Mayor. My first band gig was when I was 14 at the Old People Club in Lowestoft playing '60s stuff with local school friends Graeme Brown and Graham Howsham. The band was called The Prowlers. My first earning gigs was with pianist Tony Kent in the early 1960's playing 4 nights a week at the Jolly Sailors Pakefield for 30 bob a night."
